Arasi's maternal unvle, V.V.Satagopan, a very handsome personality and an actor was well known for this song. This song has been recorded by him in HMV OR COLUMBIA. A striking resemblance of him in Arasi.

Thank you, PB.
After all these years, I listened to MLV singing that song! As a child, it was exciting enough to be watching a Chinnappa movie, a dIpAvali release too (?). I was surprised to see a CM 'concert' in a film and also listen to MLV sing a favorite song, wearing those fancy earrings! That was all I could remember until I heard this.
MLV sings it beautifully, and with all those GNB touches! Things I surely missed when I was a child...
The writer of the article ( a cousin) lives the music which our family has carried in its genes for generations. Her daughters are continuing the tradition (Sumitra Nitin and Sunanda Narayanan), and they dance too.
