can anybody who is an ardent fan of hindi fim music,especiallyold (gold) songs , let me know in which raag the wonderful, melodious song 'MAIN SOYA AKHIYAN NEECHE' BY Rafi and Asha in the film PHAGUN has been composed by OPNAYYAR? ONCE YOU HEAR IT,YOU FEEL LIKE HEARING IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. GOBILALITHA .I have tried websites giving such information

This song is listed under Pilu ragam. Although I feel at certain places it mixes other melodies.

Many thanks. Visited the website referred to. agreed that it is not exactlu pilu It even has a trace of desh, tilak khamod etc. well that is the beauty of film music. To thimk of OP NAYYAR, WITHOUT THE FUNDAMENTAL KNOWLEDGE OF MUSIC CREATING SUCH WONDERFUL MUSIC,antagonising Lata, bringing ASHA to limelight, as a stiff competitor to Lata . gobilalitha
