on 11/4 Swati venkatraman, my eldest daughter will appear IN Jaya tv programme 'ennodu pattu padungal, conducted by the well known singerSPB BETWEEN 8PM AND 9PM .She has been asked to sing 2 songs,one semi classical., the other a teasing one. choice of songs by organisera. Interested members are requested to tune to this programme and post about them. thanks .gobilalitha

Gobilalitha sir,
If you have a handycam or any video camera, there is a facility to connect it to the TV and record whatever shows you want. You can record it like that and upload it on Youtube. Or, there are some websites like www.tamilforce.com that have the recordings of shows like "Ennodu Paatu Paadungal". The shows get uploaded the next day itself. So, nobody will miss it. You can somehow obtain a recording. And, if you do, please tell us.

I request any of the interested forum members ,to view this programme patiently on jaya tv (if available), record it and post it in 'you tube'. i am a total zero in such matters , nor do I possess a handycam or video camera gobilalitha

I did watch this program and Mrs.Swati was very much appreciated by SPB. She is qualified for the next round. All the best. ( As of today I am zero in recording... youtube etc. hence I only enjoyed the program).

Had the distinct pleasure of meeting Swathi Venkatraman (courtesy of SPB) who sang DKP's Bharathy song 'ADuvOmE..' with verve. Unfortunately due to technical trouble could not see the second half.

They both sang very well. Swati has an expressive voice with a lot of punch in it too (Asha-like). Best wishes to them. Tried to locate Lalitha and you in the audience. Did the camera capture you?

Thanks for the appreciative reviews, the original somg was by JIKKI AND S.JANAKI. my daughterSwati who is also a trained carnatic music singer feels that it is not that easy to sing film songs. The song 'manjalum thandal' is a beautiful tune ARASI, We did not attend the recording. The next round is a bit tough, the contestants will be asked ro sing the selected song in different shrutis and taalams.gobilalitha

PriyaRam, the programme will be retelecast om sunday night at 11 pm. But I feel it may not be convenient for tired housemakers and theirhusbands to attend office the next day. Congratulations Swati! She was just outstanding with that KBS piece from Karaikkal Ammayaar. She had the right bhavam and the voice (her shruti is higher than KBS of course). Her shruti was just impeccable for the Saveri viruttam. What can I say, it was an excellent performance. Of course the marudhaaNi was good too but I am not a great fan of 'light' music. I predict she will win the series hands down! My blessings to her!

It was televised in Jaya TV. The final episode will be telecast next saturday when we will know for sure whether Swati made it!

Swati has got it! She has that lively quality of Asha in her voice (I think of GBL's love for OPN and Asha).
I liked the way she counted Adi tALam in her hand gesture for the KBS song, varying it from the playback singer's sway of her hand for marudANi.

Just finished watching EPP. Swati was a clear winner. Her exposition of 'Kannan oru kai kkuzhanthai' was simply superb. Her taaLam and shruti alignment was impeccable. In fact SPB was tongue-tied to find any faults. But then I did not know they were looking for a team. Just as in tenniis when you have a weak partner you lose the game! I do not contest the decision since for no fault of hers swaati has lost the semi finals. But you are a winner in our hearts on your own. Your classsicism is simply brilliant. God bless you in your future endeavours.

Oh I was really wondering why swati was not selected for the finals, inspite of 'no comments' from the judge. I was not aware that they wanted a team. swati you are the winner. i just loved the way you sang without any faults. all the best. hoping to see more of you !
