Danceable songs of Sri M. Balamuralikrishna

Post by girishsrinivasan »

Dear Rasikas,

My sister plans to do a Bharatnatyam dance recital in memory of Sri M. Balamuralikrishna so I want you all to suggest me at least 10 danceable songs sung by him (both his own and and other artists compositions) with links to the mentioned songs. Much better if someone can come up with a margam kind of format.

Yours sincerely
S. Girish

Here are a few of Dr.BMK's own compositions (to my knowledge) that have been performed in Bharatanatyam.
Pushpanjali - Jhem Jhem Tanata viewtopic.php?t=897 in Arabhi/Ragamalika ??
Jatiswaram - Sa Sa Ni Pa Ma Ga in Kedaram
Varnam -Omkara Pranava in Shanmukhapriya OR Amma Ananda in Gambhiranattai
Padam/Kriti - Parameshwara Palayasu in Kharaharapriya
Tillana - Amruthavarshini/Brindavanasaranga/Garudadhwani/Kadanakutoohalam (although KK is pretty fast one for BN; I doubt this is a dance item)
Mangalam - He usually ended his concerts with Bhadrachala Ramadas' composition, "Ramachandraya Janakaraya... in Kurinji"
Not sure of other margam items of his.

Good luck to your sister! :)
