#1 kshetrayya padam mundaTivale : lyrics & meaning

Post by SuhaelAmrita » 02 Apr 2018, 10:00

Dear Respected Rasika,

I have been searching the forum as well as other resources for the correct lyrics and meaning of this Padam but unfortunately am unable to get it anywhere.

I have been given the following lyrics from my Dance school but I am not comfortable with the way the wordings have been shared.

Hoping you can help with the correct lyrics and meaning.

(P)
Munnadi vellanepaye nennaru naadana Swami, mucchetta lingane

(A)
Yendaku mugamicchaan goumaanda laadevu lerama muvva gopalana swami

(C1)
Pillupa nambina raahu, pillacchi nannu ninnavu pallumaari vedina pallukauna swami

(C2)
Vallappu ninupa lekha chaaluguda anni ninnu telachi telachi kaala tala piliche gaane

Looking forward to your response.

Thank you!

Regards,
Amrita

Thank you so much!

This makes so much more sense... Can I request you for the meaning as well? Would be very thankful.

Here is the translation::

My Lord,Have you got any affection for me as before?

Why are you prattling about this?{p}

Why is that you are speaking like a flaterer,what is this,My Lord,muvvagOpAla{ap}

if I send word for you, you do not arrive,

if I call repeatedly you do not accept my call

Even if I request repeatedly, you do not speak

unable to bear the passion,recollecting, thinking of your beauty,

this is only agitating me {c1}

you are not considering the intimacies we had since young,

is it proper for you to despise me now?

handsome one, do I not know your fraud?

what is the point in blaming you?

this is what I got for my devotion to you.

{this is what I got for worshipping you}{c2}

varadarAja of kAnchi, calling you as the king of lilies,

did that woman let you come this far?

in the game of the flower bow holder{cupid}

for the sin of laying hold of me,being intimate with me,

have you come to see me with your eyes?{c3}

Many many thanks! This is very helpful. It also explains how way off some of the abhinaya is in the version composed by the dance school.

Appreciate your help. Now this takes me back to the drawing board.

Pranam!

I also found the following 2 post very relevant while I tried to look for translation of Telegu words.

Sharing the link from other forum posts:
