Great!
If you had just posted the audio, I wonder how many would have placed the age of the performer at ...12?

Yes, a very talented boy. The Youtube note says "...For the past two years he has been training under Dr.Sakuntala Narasimhan of Rampur- Sahaswan gharana.."

That is very interesting. There has been some discussion on vidushi Sakuntala Narasimhan on this forum: http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9750vasanthakokilam wrote:Yes, a very talented boy. It's fascinating to watch him continue playing right through, while others are talking and discussing...

Here are some more links to Sameer Athreya's latest performance at Bangalore.

The maturity and spontaneous imagination is mind-boggling.
Also note his awareness of stage etiquette and traditions - prostrated to each accompanist before starting the concert (not in the video); he starts the concert 'with all your permission', and respectfully touches his ear when the word 'inayat' occurs during the 'drut'. (Inayat Khan was one of the forefathers of the Rampur Sahaswan gharana).
He is a charming child, just 11 years old, and very playful and talkative like any other kid. It is when he starts singing that he transforms into an 'ustad' and one wonders whether this is indeed proof of the reincarnation theory.
