Who is the singer?

I have no clue who this is. Can you recognize the singer?

There are times I thought it could be Manakkal Rangarajan.

No. It is MA Kalyanakrishna Bhagavatar.

I think it is V.Subramanian. MAK's voice if I am not mistaken is deeper. Moreover he used to play the Veena in the Navarathri festival in the Palace.

rupavathi seems to be sure it is MAK Bhagavathar the (primarily) vainika. I haven't heard MAK Bhagavathar sing, so can't comment on that.

If that assertion by rupavathi were in doubt for some reason, I would guess the singer as the late Vairamangalam Lakshminarayanan.

I checked out MAK's concert recordings at Sangeethapriya. His voice seems to be more deep and doesn't display the nasalities and voice quirks we associate with SSI.
The raga alapanas and song renditions are also SSI school.
I am also convinced it is TNK on the violin.

It is of course not "unmIstakably" SSI.

Having heard him live at the Mandapam in the late 70s/early 80s, perhaps?
It certainly isn't VS. The only other persons that came to mind were Prof Vechur Hariharasubramaniam & Puducode Krishnamurthy. Puducode however has a more distinct nasal twang, while Prof VHS had a gruffer tone. My memory of MAK live is very close to what I heard in this Suddhasaveri.
(BTW, there were two Kalyanakrishna Bhagavatars... MAK was a vocalist & vainika while MKK only played vina)

However I still see the aroma of the SSI school and the trademark nasality in a few sections.
The vocal concerts updloaded of MAKB in Sangeethapriya show a different voice timbre and even style of singing.

I have confirmed with a musician from TVM that the singer is C S Krishna Iyer.
