I totally concur. Sowmya did this last year too with Nandanar Charitram with three young male singers who were not her students directly. Although, is Bharat Sundar getting some training from her now? The ritigowlai/Surutti Nishadam distinction was very nice, although quite apparent to anyone who has thought about it.

Yes indeed. That was quite an enjoyable presentation. The 5 gana raga ramayana is quite an interesting composition. I felt like OVK was invoking Kamban in that fourth charanam on the pattAbhishEkam. It will work very well for group singing, like the Thyagaraja Pancharatnam. Good decision by Ravikiran to highlight that composition. The kannaDa piece on Rajarajeswari sounded interesting as well. He sang only the first line due to lack of time, it will be great to hear the full composition at a different occasion.

For a change, the Q&A was not frivolous, was quite apt about the theme and not about the artist.
