Karnatak music in western notes

Post by Lakshman »

There are many karnatak and hindustani songs here, using western notes for those who might be interested.

Lakshman-ji. This is certainly useful, but would be much better if written in standard sheet music form. For example, see the Darbar Varnam here http://imslp.org/images/a/a0/TN-ananth- ... -page1.jpg

It is more intuitive to read it this way than the system the author has spent a lot of trouble writing in, where he has just transposed the swarams for their western note equivalent.

V.K.Krishnaprasad's books with Carnatic music in Staff notation can be found here.

On the same note, Lakshmanji, do you have copies of Chinnaswami Mudaliar's 'Carnatic Music in Staff notation' booklets?

Keerthi, thanks. But all the links in that page appear to be broken.
