Re: gokulashtami
GBL,
Thank you so much for the song by VVS and for thinking of me.
I have heard him sing it even better in concerts (no constraints of the three+ minutes there!).
By the way, the composition is by Aiyya of Trivandrum, his cousin. I love this song. Only thing is, I have remembered the beautiful lines as 'nAnenum pEdamai nazhuvi maRaiyudaDi--Ananda vaDivAi akilamum kANudaDi', and here, he sings it as akilamum mARudaDi. Wonder if there are two versions of it or if the word was changed at some point...
Maduraimini might remember!

Arasi,
As far as I remember it is Ananda vadivai Akilamum Aduthadi. Now we have 3 versions!

Re: gokulashtami
Lakshman, happy to share this lovely song.
I am writing it down as I heard it and sang it as a youngster!
KaNNan mugam tOnRudaDi, aDiyE--endan
kaNgaL seida tavap payanO? (KaNNan mugam)
ponnurugum vAnilum, poygai vaLar pUvinilum
vaNNa mayilADalilum, vaNDisaikkum pADalilum (KaNNan mugam)
mEni silirkkudu, mAyak kuzhalinisai
tEninum iniya tInjuvai tarugudu
nAnenum pEdamai nazhuvi maRaiyudaDi
Ananda vaDivAi akilamum kANudaDI (kaNNan mugam)

Re: gokulashtami
Thanks arasi. The fist word in the 3rd line of the caraNa was bothering me as it did not make much sense.

And the highlight of a line too!
It's a moment of bliss--when the 'me' slides away.
mARudaDi is mundane when compared to this state...
What by the way is the first word that you have? I can't hear the audio anymore...

Lakshman,
Did hear the recording now. and it is 'akilamum mArudaDi!', not kANudaDi! What two uncles created and sang, I substituted with another word!
