Another example I was taught at College.
A farmer watches amusedly as a group of civil engineers survey the path up a mountain for a new road .
He asks what they are doing and shakes his head in disapproval , on coming to know the answer- finding the safest ,easiest and most comfortable way up.
The group , takes offense and asks him if he knew a better way .
Oh Yes , I would walk my donkey up the mountain. The path he takes is always the safest , easiest and most comfortable

Sachi_R-> Even Gramaphone companies are donating gems from the past ( I am afraid, these may not be available in Sangeethapriya.. as they were commercial records previously). For example, here is one from Madurai Mani Iyer -Thyagaraja kruthi. Intha sowkyam -kapi .. But for youtube, I could not have had a chance to regain the 'lost' treasure. https://youtu.be/mvAkAA9wPCs
It all depends. Even upto the 50's, it was through the 'plates', that we got the choicest songs of all leading musicians. besides concert hall recordings. Mani Iyer concert set is available free in youtube. Technology can be misused or used crudely. That is upto to the uploader.

RSR,
This is a wonderful joke you have picked up!
Teaches Saregama and You Tube a good lesson.
By the way, this song is ALSO called Samsara Ondu!

Sachi Sir-> sometimes, we get it right/wrong. Another piece from youtube. Janaki Ramana (Thyagaraja swami..Suddha Seemandhini). by Madurai Mani Iyer.
https://youtu.be/4VrSZ9d3-vw
From Madurai Mani Iyer channel.
---------------------------------------my comment on the tube page. ' JANAKI RAMANA' keerthanai in SUDDHA SEEMANDHINI RAGAM is an absolute gem.from THYAGARAJA SWAMI. The meaning of the KRUTHI has been given by SRI.V.GOVINDHAN in his THYHAGARAJA VAIBAVAM website. It is noteworthy that Thyagaraja Swami composed ONLY ONE kruthi in this ragam. so wonderfully suited for devotion.and it is to the everlasting glory of T.N.RAJARATHNAM PILLAI to have brought it to public notice. The ragam is so much like Todi but has distinct differences D.K.PATTAMMAAL rendering is the greatest from her best suited to her style. ...... "rakta naLina daLa nayana nrpAla ramanIyAnana mukura kapOla bhakti hIna jana madagaja jAla panca vadana tyAgarAja pAla"... (when I hear that in my mind, I tend to get stuck up there, like a damaged record groove) how very tranquil! How blissful an experience TNR would have given us, in playing those lines! It is divine work .

varsha ji, CRama, Mahesh -> I am very happy to report that I was able to access and download a few DKP songs today. Though the search may be made a bit more user-friendly, the site is the BEST of its kind. Thank you.
