Was Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar active in the 17th century?

Years ago, Kanniks (Kannikeswaran), a one-time member of the forum, and his daughters brought out a 2-CD set called vismaya, where they’ve presented several of the noTTusvarams with a Celtic band...
Wonder how Celnatic becomes a unique concept (Ilaitaraja or not), and what Berklee’s views on plagiarism are?

I should say - Sahana & Shruti are the only musicians ( or the kind of age group) my daughter would like to hear. She heard with rapt attention their Sri Lakshmi varAham and mouthed it too - from their ArangETram video in Chennai! Anybody elder, she asks me to shut off. Including that of MSS or Ranjani Gayathri! She simply does not want any old (relative to her age!) people's music!!

One reason I should want younger and younger musicians to sing!! ;) . Because I don't know how much pURva janama sukRtam my daughter would have done or not and how it is going to pan out.

I was thinking about this, but forgot his name. Nice that you mentioned it.
