Hello,
In Muthuswamy Dikshitar's Bhowli kriti Shree Parvati Parameshwarau, Shiva & Parvati are referred to as "gandharasa aadharou" i.e. the basis of smell & taste. Could anyone tell me why this epithet is used? I mean, why specially for the sense of smell & taste? Elsewhere on the net, this phrase has been described as "an Advaitic reference". I was reminded of the Mrityunjaya mantram in which Shiva is referred as Sugandhim. Could anyone throw more light on this connection between Shiva and smell/fragrance?
