This was coming. Before saying good buy let me thank AIR Chennai(then AIR Madras) specially, for the wonderful service they rendered. In the 50s, 60s and even 70s It was a life line for many of us living far away from Chennai. Can't describe the emotions one felt when the announcer said "Isai Vizha, we are now takng you over to TTK hall or Raja Annamalimandram .. to listen to... what any of the great stars of the day". Without the short wave transmission we could not have heard those legends live in those bygone days.
