Here is a bhajan of Mirabai in Miya Malhar. I transferred from an audio tape to the pc and hence the noise. I dont know how to clear the noise. I could use some help if possible.

Recording is perfect.Though you could try re-recording with the output volume a few notches lower.That would bring down the slight jarring feel.

Great rendering.Thanks.Please keep them coming.

Sumati,
That was LOVELY! The rAg to me evokes spring...
I just reduced the preamp on iTunes and the jarring feeling is less already!

Kji,
Kansen that I am, I found this to be very close to miyA malhAr - what are the differences between miyA malhAr and malhAr?

Sumati,
you have a lovely voice!
Shankar,it's Hindolam.I don't know how close malhar is to hindolam..but this is hindolam.

The above bhajan was in Miya Malhar and the other poem on love uploaded in the light classical section was in three different ragas viz. Malkauns (Hindolam), Shivaranjani and Bhairavi (Sindhubhairavi)

It is indeed Miyamalhar and I dont know why i wrote it as malhar. sorry about that.

? You mean what sumati has sung is hindOLa? Surely not.

In Sumati's rendering RShabha is very prominent ad the resting note. Is that the vAdi? Generally has our kAnaDa chAye. There is a lot of G2M1R2, and SN3D2N2P. Also dhaivata has some prominence and is often held elongated. Is that the samvAdi or is it the pancama?

Undoubtedly a very melodios rendering Suamti. Very Nice.

Just a favour sumati!
Will it be possible to post the lyric too! The melody is great but the words are equally nice to enjoy fully. Who set these to music? They are quite diffeent from the way MS sings them!

I think Cmlover is talking about Baso Mohe that MSS Amma has rendered. The above rendition of Baso More was set to tune by one of my teacher Mrs. Joshi. The chandrakauns bhajan (Guru Charan) was taught to me by my other teacher but I dont know who set it to tune. The Miyamalhar bhajan was set to tune by Mrs. Chawla.

I will definitely post the lyrics on monday.

The words are"

TUM SUNO DAYAL MHARI ARAJI
BHAVA SAGAR MEIN BAHI JAAT HOON
KADHO TO THAARI MARAJI ||

IN SANSAR SAGO NAHI KOI
SACHA SAKHA RAGHUVARAJI||

MAAT PITA AUR KUTUM KABILO
SAB MATALAB KE GARAJI ||

MIRA KE PRABHU GIRIDHARA NAGAR
CHARANA LAGAAO THAARI MARAJI ||

WoW! Sumati you touched my heart! Thank you!
The lyric does help to follow the melody though you sing differently at times!
Very beautiful shubhapantuvarali!
