Vedanta Desikan is the prolific vaishnava poet (in thamizh too), logician, philosopher, sage and Bhaktha--the very same individual as Swami Desikan. It is like saying Sankaracharya or Maha periyava. Desikan's other name is kavithArkika simha...

Mani Krishnaswami has rendered gOdhA stuti extremely well - very melodious...it is a commercial track.

i would like to know about vedanta desikas vaazhi thirunamam
kanni thanil onathil katchi vandhon vazhiye which is suppose to be the first stanza i would like to know about remaining stanzas.

sundarasimham link above has a fund of information on Vedanta Desikar.
Half of the 108 books there are by Desikar perhaps.
OV Sadagopan has done a commendable work in this project.
He contimues it on ahobilavalli series.
You may join one of those groups like srirangasri, parakalamatham etc and get more educated on the subject.

sri vedanta Desikan swami is known for his mastery of logic and grammar and for his grandiose style of writing poetry.he challenged kalidasa and wrote hamsa sandesham against his meghasandesham. he wrote a stotra called paduka sahasram in a single night challenging another kavi .

swami desikan is a great sculptor and architect. he dug a well in thiruvahathipuram and made an icon of himself

Chalanata, thats why he was called sarvatantra svatantrar.

Another interesting poetic work is sankalpasUryOdayam. It was in challenge to a north indian kavi's work prabhOdachandrOdayam. I think the names themselves suggest the meaning and which is superior to which.
