Super PB
You have revealed the Poet inside you!
Let us see more of your creations in a separate thread and better with audio if you have set them to music as well!
Let us also have a gala 'poetical shower' (kavithai mazhai) after srkris's wedding. I am sure Punarvasu and Arasi too
will join us with their inspirations...

Bravo!
Reminds me of Bharathi's
whch of course brings in a different kind of fantasy...
Have you heard it sung by Chidambaram Jayaraman (I think in the old movie

PB and CML.....absolutely brilliant....the sheer beauty of the language is mind boggling...

CML, on your poem, some where you should try and insert "kumudakriya"...I don't know how but I am sure you can...

PB...Keerai?...mmmmmm...would you consider changing this to anna nadai pottu...unable to relate to a parrot some how!

Please keep it coming....

Thanks sam
Actually 'keera' is of sanskrit origin meaning a parrot. Hence keervANi is like the melody of the parrot. I agree annam willbe more appropriate.

I actually wanted to weave in 'pavithra' in the poem but the praasam was difficult. I will try 'kumudakriya' (raagam-wise) when I compose for the greetings after the wedding.
This is just a 'wedding shower' for now :D
Do please pitch in with all of your creations (humourous too :D
Let the Party begin..

Sam Swaminathan:

Thanks for the encouragement!

As for 'anna-nadai', of course, that was the first expression that came to mind. In fact it rhymes with the word 'kanna' in the next line.

However, a few things made me select 'keerai-nadai': Firstly, it satisfies the 'monai' rule. Secondly, years back we had a parrot at home and we use to enjoy its style of walking! Thirdly it suggests 'red-lips' too! (Eyes, temple and cheek are mentioned in the song; 'keerai' helps to refer to the lips.) And finally, it is off-beat making poetic justice!

As suggested by you, I will post a few more. Comments and suggestions are most welcome.

Your poem is wonderful!

The heading 'Pratyaksham Bala Kavithaigal' is embarrassing! I have changed it to 'Tamil Kavithaigal by Rasikas'. Hope this is ok.

Let this thread provide us the opportunity to enjoy the creations of all Rasikas members.

here is one on music concert and deepavali:

Thanks PB
for those golden memories which some of us share. The first song contains a superb saranga sung by P Leela whcih we have discussed here before courtesy of Shankar.
I hope he will share some of the marriage related songs in the old Hindi movies.

Can you find and post
