Practice to improve Samskrita pronunciation

Post by Sachi_R »

Dear budding musicians and chanters,
In order to help people who have difficulty learning how to pronounce Samskrita words (especially those speaking south Indian languages, particularly Tamizh), I have a suggestion.
Please recite Mukundamala stotram.
I give you the link:
http://www.prapatti.com/slokas/tam2/mukundamaalaa.pdf

You can listen to the correct recitation here:
http://www.prapatti.com/slokas/mp3/mukundamaalaa.mp3

(The shlokas are given in several scripts in this site).

Particularly, please repeat these shlokas. They come in different places but are in the MP3 file :

~~~
bhaktāpāya-bhujāńga-gāruḍa-maṇis trailokya-rakṣā-maṇir
gopī-locana-cātakāmbuda-maṇiḥ saundarya-mudrā-maṇiḥ
yaḥ kāntā-maṇi-rukmiṇī-ghana-kuca-dvandvaika-bhūṣā-maṇiḥ
śreyo deva-śikhā-maṇir diśatu no gopāla-cūḍā-maṇiḥ
~~~

nāsthā dharme na vasu-nicaye naiva kāmopabhoge

yad bhāvyaḿ tad bhavatu bhagavan pūrva-karmānurūpam

etat prārthyaḿ mama bahu mataḿ janma-janmāntare 'pi

tvat-pādāmbhoruha-yuga-gatā niścalā bhaktir astu

~~~
bhava-jaladhim agādhaḿ dustaraḿ nistareyaḿ
katham aham iti ceto mā sma gāḥ kātaratvam
sarasija-dṛśi deve tārakī bhaktir ekā
naraka-bhidi niṣaṇṇā tārayiṣyaty avaśyam
~~~

Hope this helps.
PS: the Tamizh file and recitation are from one site, the English transliteration is from another site and may split the words a little differently. But you can resolve it based on the audio).
