"Oh my god so shocking that chittoor venkatesan sir ( the great flautist who moulded his career inspired by the great mali sir) is no more. i just met him a few days back. cant even think that this could happen. sometimes god is so cruel to great and good souls who do yeomen service to music. At this hour of grief i pray the Almighty to give strength to his family and music world to bear this irreplaceable loss. May his soul rest in peace regards calcutta shankar"

A very shocking news. Chittoor firstly Subramania pillai and then Gopalakrishnan family will come to our mind. His participation in Thiruvaiyaru Utsavam in earlier days was memorable. My deepest condolences to all his family members. RIP

Just this evening, on the way home, I listened to an excellent one hour flute concert of Chittoor Venkatesan which Amrutavarshini FM was broadcasting.
A good Nagaswaravali and and a great Shankarabharanam were featured in this programme.
Saw this thread now and was shocked at the news of his demise.
