Very sad news . His accompaniment was very crisp. He was always encouraging youngsters and never had the habit of resting in the old is gold glory . If you had been to thyagaraja vidwath sabha in mylapore you can always see him as an intense rasika and at times genuinely appreciating youngsters. I just googled to see that he was born on 1924, 94 years with atleast 8 decades of violin service - born and moved on in chennai.

Condolences to his family and the great parur school disciples .

Condolences to his family, sishyas, and rasikas.

MSA's music had all the grace and style of the Parur tradition, and he enhanced many a concert with his effortless accompaniment. I particularly treasure a KVN concert with his accompaniment; I'll try to post a few clips later. His early duets with MSG are also beautiful.

Other is my 2 reviews of AnanthaRaman Sir accompanying Manakkal Rangarajan - one is SKGS and Other in IIT Madras. I definitely recollect even now the ragamaliga swaras that he played for manakkal rangarajan sir in SKGS.

Heartfelt condolences. He was a consummate and yet lovably humble. artist Enjoyed the respect of his peers.Accompanied male and female artists throughout his career and earned their respect.Under the rigorous "drill" of his father the "Parur" style of playing stood out in the brothers' duets in the late forties and fifties. If I remember right Parur Sundaram Iyer had withheld them from accompanying for a long time.

His heirs are carrying the torch admirably.

May his soul rest in peace!!
