Good catch! The function seems to have been held in Mysore.

As far as I know, Mysore Vasudevacharya had a big role in documenting Sri Sadashiva rao compositions. Some of the names in the report are his disciples'.

It appears that the publication has repeated a smaller subset of songs from the older Kalabhivardhini Sabha's publication, and the Music Academy's publication authored by Vasudevacarya.

There are dozens of gems of Sadashiva Rao - compositions in PUrNaSaDja and Ramapriya; punnAgatODi and more, his composition on Pazhani Muruga and the song he composed for tyAgarAja's paTTAna-pravEsaM at Walajapet - tyAgarajaswAmi veDalina dRSyamu; followed by a song in praise of his guru's Ramamandira icons in KAmbhoji.Sadashiva Rao has 4 songs, all referring to Kanci KAmAkSi as seen on a friday, all in KalyAni; all yet to enter circulation, or even to be available in notation.

Many students of Vasudevacarya and the Seshanna-Subbanna lineage, besides the Chintalapalli students should come forth with these masterpiece of lyrical and musical excellence. There is one Kannada publication - apUrva-sadAshiva, that has 12 new compositions, and one old, with good notation - sAgarakanyaka in bEgaDa, composed on perundEvi of Kanci.

T.P.Vaidyanathan is a very good singer, who has sung many compositions of SadAshiva Rao, as well as a set of rare songs of tyAgarAja for albums.

Good to see Apoorva sadashiva getting a mention in the above Post.

I vividly remember Sri Shreekantham Nagendra Shastry's,( Incidentally Apoorva Sadashiva's Author) words whenever this works gets a mention here and there. He always use to mention how his great grand father,Chintalapalli Venkatarao was so reluctant to share those Gems with anyone given the pains that he had taken to learn them and also the way they might get misused. He was of the opinion that those Kritis should remain within his shishya parampara. But many of those were fine tuned and published in later years by Sri Nagendra Shastry in order to make those kriti Ratnas accessible to Musicians and Rasikas. There are at least 46 Compositions with him including aTa Tala Varnam, Padavarnam, JavaLis in his collection which are yet to be released.

I also would Request fellow rasikas to mention Author's Name whenever such works are mentioned in posts like above. It is not that they crave for recognition, it is our responsibility to make sure that due credit is given.

Of the 47 songs in T.P.Vaiyanathan's book only two of them are new - the pUrvikalyANi tillAna with notation and the lyrics of the bhairavi song pAhi shrI lalitE.
In Apoorva Sadashiva there are many notations for songs which were not available earlier publications.

IINM, śrī Nāgēndra śāstriji belongs to the lineal disciples of this composer. Anyways, other than the identified 50 something songs of this composer, a song with the starting words, "pālayamāṁ paramēśvara mr̥gadhara..." in mōhanam is found with notation in the Music Academy journals. As well, there is this rare composition in hēmavati rāga and pratāpaśēkhara tāḷaṁ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD9J47NU3rc rendered by no other than Shastriji himself.

The composition kamala kanta in t p vaidhyanathan's book is given as vasantha raga. And in apoorva sadashiva it is mentioned as lalita ragam. This shows that originally composed compositions in lalita ragam have changed to vasantha as in the case of sitamma mayamma composition lalita has changed to vasanta raga. See vedavalli amma's pramaanam cd how compositions have changed to different ragas.
