I would like to say here that my husband has brought out a book, RAGA CHINTAMANI.

Ragachintamani is a compilation of tamil cine songs based on classical ragas.
It has an introduction of the general pattern of ragas and their varieties.
A brief introduction of around 160 raga is given and the cine songs based on that raga is listed.

The arohanam and avarohanam of the raga is also given, which may be useful for those who are in orchestra troupe who may be in need of this information.

Once again the songs vs ragas are given in an alphabetical order so that you can easily locate the raga for a song.
So far the tamil cine world might have produced millions of songs and as a first step he has only brought around 1500 songs.

Encourage anything "good" related Carnatic music. Otherwise what is the use?
