Swathi was given age exemption at the age of 12 to perform at the All India Radio. Swathi belongs to the family of musicians, well known in Andhra as challa family, her grandparents were challa narasimhamurthy and challa kameswaramma, who were patrons of music and musicians. All the stalwarts and legents have been patronized by their family at Vijayawada. It is music and nothing else that appeals to the art loving challa family. All her maternal aunts are casual artistes of All India Radio. Her maternal cousin M.S.N Murthy is a reputed violinist and her sister in law is Panthula Rama, a reputed vocalist.

Rendered over 200 concerts in most major music organizations all over India,
All the reputed sabhas of Chennai like music academy, narada gana sabha, mylapore fine arts, Krishna gana sabha, vani mahal. Shanmuka nanda sabha of Bombay, sion fine arts of Bombay, kalasagaram of Hyderabad, vignyana samithi, Hyderabad.
