( I am just a hobbyist.no formal training), Hamsadhvani is associated in my memory with MS.Subbulakshmi's 'aruL purivAy karuNaik kadale'.... Hamsanaadham with NCVasanthakokilam's 'andha nAL ini varumo?" and Hamsanandhi with the first stanza of MS Subbulakshmi 's 'vadavaraiyai matthAkki' ragamalika. I have given link to NCV song ( donated by saregama to tube). here.

May I know if my understanding is right?

Sri.Suresh, Sri.Srinath, -> There is no doubt about Hamsadhvani . It is so well known ragam. My doubt about hamsanadham persists. The first stanza of vadavaraiyai matthaakki ( ragamalika) by Smt MS (if)...is in hamsaanadhi . ( or the opening lines of famous Thamizh Meera song 'charaacharam' .. If so, NCV 's andhanaaL ini varumo sounds different. and distinct. I have removed the ragam name from the page cited. ( I have already gone through the article links cited). Thank you. I am leaving it open. for the present. (with due respect to reply)

You are right about vaDavaraiyai. However anda nAL ini varumO is a beautiful example of hamsAnandi as well. When I get time I will show you with notation how both are hamsAnandi (I can't do it now as this is quite a bit of work). Do take my word for it and write the rAga name as hamsAnandi.
By the way, you have done a great job compiling the collections of NCV songs. Now I can just share your website link.

#5-> Srinath_ji, Thank you. I will add the ragam name as Hamsaanandhi to the page again. I am sure that you have considered my 'reservation'.. Notations are not necessary. . Yesterday, I went through the blog of saidvk in wordpress again and he has mentioned so many ragams rarely used and heard. Perhaps, there are too fine nuances. It may be mere personal preference but MS's Arul Purivaay song , in my opinion , is much sweeter than the usual Vatapi Ganapathim... Likewise, it may be the case with vadavariayai (first stanza) and andha naaL ini varumo. Thank you for the encouraging words about the vasanthakokilam site. When you come across any song not mentioned in the sidebar, kindly share with us all. My target is 100 songs. Best Regards.
