An introduction from Raga Surabhi (an excellent resource for ragas, readers do check it out) http://www.ragasurabhi.com/carnatic-mus ... jyoti.html
Soothing, meditative, pleading and absorbing in it's character, this raga is quite aptly named. It's also my go to whenever I need to just relax.
Coming to details chandrajyOti is a vivAdi scale going like
Aro: S R1 G1 M2 P D2 S
Avaro : S D2 P M2 G1 R1 S
G1 with R1 combination and D2 complement each other very well.
This was one of those rAgAs that came from Thyagaraja - and we have 2 of his compositions available in this rAgA.

Re: chandrajyOti
when anyone listens this ragam for the first time, they often confuse with popular ganamurti as it has the same (r1 and g1 combination)

Re: chandrajyOti
You can't confuse the D2 and the absence of N3 though, or the M2, that changes everything. G1 is the vivAdi swaram.
