Found a couple of links from MIO.
http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/S4K ... As1NMvHdW/ Balachandar
http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/m4x ... As1NMvHdW/ Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana,
Not quite what I guessed in terms of the pradhanam being in the overlapping region of the pUrvAnga and uttarAngA but interesting nonetheless.
It has flashes of Dhanyasi in Nookala's rendition, I thought.

The dikshitar song in this rAga is KodandarAmam anisham - only the name they use is 'KokilAravam'
DAsarathe dayAsaradhe is thyAgaraja's fine piece, of which there is a commercial tape by KVN. He has also rendered MAnAyatha-manjula - The composition of J.C.Wodeyar in this raga. the latter can be found on Sangeethapriya.
The Malladi brothers and Hyderabad brothers revel in expansive renditions of Kokilapriya; and there is a commercial record of the Hyde brothers' RTP Kokilapriya sung at the academy.

It is hard to tear oneself away from thinking of Thodi when listenining to DAsarathe dayAsaradhe and Dhanyasi when listening to Kodandaramam ( mainly the pallavi ). But as is the template with many CM songs, the anupallavi traverses to uttaranga and a different personality emerges. But it is a case of dual personality emerging one after the other.
In the Wodeyar piece, interestingly, the pallavi itself brings out a new integrated personality of the shankarabarana and the thodi rasas. Very interesting.

I agree, Kokilaravam has distinct prayogas; but over the last half century or more, there has been a definite tendency of musicians to not adhere too closely to the Asampoorna mela's swara patterns ,both while singing alapa/swara and while rendering the krthi itself.
The calcutta school of dikshitar's disciplic lineage, for instance, sings Swetaganapathim in Ragachudamani's sampUrna version Ragavardhini. Also rasamanjari and Rasikapriya. I have heard renditions of the Stavaraja song in Shadvidhamargini, of ChAmaram songs in Shanmukhapriya and so on, even from students of the erstwhile central college of carnatic music, where Chittoor, Sandhyavandanam et al held sway.
TNS sings kodandaramam with ragam and kalpanaswaras in the sampUrna form.

Re: Kokilapriya
Bhatiyari Todi is a hindustani raga which fits into this scale/mela .
Oceanofragas has some of the lakshanas of it , which the webmaster has probably taken from a grantha of Pt Manikbuwa Thakurdas .
Unfortunately I can not find any audio .
