Chatusra tisram is not Palghat Raghu sir's invention. It has been there for many years preceding his generation of musicians. Pudukkottai school has been credited with such innovations from where Palghat Raghu assimilated many of his laya ideas. It was even said Palghat Mani Iyer voluntariliy sent Palghat Raghu sir to attend concerts of Palani Subramania Pillai, when both of them had concerts on the same day at different venues.

As always Sir, history belongs to only some people! Probably his school pioneered that and formalized it into the Carnatic stage if we think Carnatic stage is what we know from 1920(s) through 1960(s) and nothing before that. A modern musical system!

The story goes, he and Shri Lalgudi had to take this up to Sri Mani Iyer who blessed them to use it, but the story also ended with a note on how aDaittal is common in tavil world.

Basically Carnatic music didn't have it before ;) and we could say he introduced it into CM.

So/But, I believe you!
