CML, it is worth an explarotary trip to Sri Lanka for your son to meet with that Siddha Doctor in the cave. That sounds quite a miracle, and authentic given that your son has seen it himself.

As you can see, I am not above stooping to bribery! I am offering you the next verse, in return for a musical rendering! So, here is the draft:

This verse is a nindA stuti:
The poet asks SivA: You are ignoring me, despite my telling (sholliyum) you countless times (Ayiram) that I have sought you/come to you (vandEn enru) in a state of weary distress (nondu)! Can it be (uNDO) that you are hard of (mandam) hearing (sevi yenna)? (Alternately, 'can it be that your ears (sevi enna) are not sharp (mandam = blunt)?'). Is there (uNDO) a father (tandai) who can ignore (nOkkAda) a son (piLLaiyai) that he has borne (peTra pin), especially one such as I who is ignorant of the subtleties (nuTpa) of the path of righteousness (neRi)? Has there ever existed (uNDO) a soul whose spirits became depressed (taLarnda)[1] after having sought/caught (piDitta) your feet (aDiyai) for refuge (tanjan enru) on a daily basis (satatamum)? If so, why aren't my spirits elevated yet? Is it a mere myth (illaiyO) that you have two (iru) sons (piLlai) – the one whose face (mukhan) bears tusks (danti) (gaNapti), and the one with six (Aru) faces (mukhan)(murugA)? If you are truly a parent, then, how can you ignore me, your son, and my heart-rending entreaties? I wonder if you are just (tAnO) a barren (malaDu) individual, because you seem to be unable to function as a nurturing, protecting, and loving father. I have come to realize that you (unniDam) resort to/have (irukkudu) magic (vindai) and deceit (jAlam). However, I am untouched by/I do not know (arigilEnE)[2] any of the forms of ego (vinai onrum). 1. taLarAda will fit in too. A heart which won't relent and so is ungiving.Your interpretation for taLarnda is okay too--you are weak-hearted. But taLaRada (not giving seems to fit, since the text (bah!) has it too.
2. aRigilEnE! is fine and is in usage. Just as in varugalAmO, in place of varalAmO.
