I am wondering if there are any books available on kanjira, technique and compositions, and, can anyone recommend sites to early carnatic music recordings, I am to hear some of the older generation kanjira players.
Thank you.

Like I said in the other thread, look up "harisankar" on youtube, and you can find plenty of his videos from concerts. Similarly, if you look on sangeethamshare.org you can find old recordings of concerts featuring kanjira vidwans like Harisankar, V. Nagarajan, C. K. Shyamsunder, K. S. Rangachari, H. P. Ramachar, Seshagiri Dass, Pudukottai Swaminatha Pillai, and others.
There is also one recording of a concert in which Pazhani Subramania Pillai has played kanjira (an Ariyakudi concert), and a few recordings of M. N. Kandaswami Pillai accompanying on kanjira in a few concerts.
I am not sure if any books have been published on kanjira playing techniques. It's best to directly learn from someone who knows how to play.
