Are you sure it was Varali? All the others are allied ragas sharing the common SRMPN

Looked like Varali only for me - not sure whether it was Shatvidhamargini kind of similar raagas.

Mr.Parakalan: Item 12 ; I guess it was Yemen Kalyani. Thanks & it was a very good concert; except Sriranjani, everything else was slow paced and very soothing

Was item no 12 , a Tulsidas composition ? In that case it maybe one of the very rare occasions (possibly 1st occasion ?) that TMK has sung a bhajan in a concert.

#12 -
SrI rAmacandra krupAlu bhaja man
haraN bhava bhaya dAruNam
nava kanj lOcana kanj mukha
kara kanj pada kanjAruNam
....

I think this is one of Sant Tulsidas' bhajans in sanskrit - and the bolded line always reminds me of Sri Annamacarya's 'kamalA sati mukha kamala, kamala hita, kamala priya, kamlEkshaNa'

So T.M.Krishna sang something that resembles a bhajan but is entirely classical. Typical T.M.K however i appreciate his singing. Though cannot fathom his speeches at margazhi mahotsavam especially the last speech he gave.

But T.M.K is a standard artiste and off late has been singing much better than he sang over the last two years. More variety in his programs. i Hope he continues giving us more of such music.

Having listened to TMK twice, i think his energy needs to be commended. It simply envelops the listener and pulls him into the realms and folds of his music...I immensely enjoyed both his concerts
