It was a wonderful concert. The pieces were rendered with a lot of bhavam and utmost precision. The AlApanais were all amazing. The danyAsi was meditative, while the bhairavi was racy. The neraval and svaram parts were all fitting to the songs and presented impeccably. The accompanists were wonderful and perfectly supported the main artist all the way.

Sumitra Vasudev should get a mention too, in the role of vocal support, even though she did play much of a solo role in this concert.
Echoing Rbharath's words... a wonderful concert.

Another lovely list with (to me) rather rare compositions! I have not heard dhyAnamE varamaina, edO teriyAmal, kanukonu saukhyamu, or the bhairavi one. Too bad, the IITM Club doesn't allow recordings!

thanks for pointing out nick. Smt. V Sumitra should have been mentioned too. Her support on the vocals was indeed very effective.
I think, there is a misunderstanding here. The Club is not against recordings. It does not record the programmes and hence does not hold copies and commercially sell them. Artists do record their concert and if the artists permit individuals can record too. As long as the recording is not going to be commercially released the Club has no issues with it.rshankar wrote: Too bad, the IITM Club doesn't allow recordings!

Lovely concert! If there's anything such, it was even more enjoyable than the other concerts of Smt Vedavalli's I've listened to!

Although it was only a modest-size audience in a large hall, there was an intimate, chamber-concert feel to the evening. Smt Vedavalli really seemed to be singing for us, and not just to us.

Nick,
You said it well. Any concert, wherever it is held, if it has that chamber concert feel is special to us.
Ravi,
Yes, dhyAnamE varamaina is not heard that often. The composition is beautiful in its reflective mood and dhanyAsi is just the rAgam for it.
Bharath,
Good to see you share many concerts with us by way of your reviews.
