Unique Musical Programmes to be organised by Upaveda

Dear Rasikas,

I am very glad to invite you all to the first in a long series of musical programmes to be organised by Upaveda, the temple for (musical) learning, started by Sri P.B.Shrirangachari to foster classical music among earnest young students. This first programme will be a unique Sangeetha Upanyasam by "Godha Gaanamani" U. Ve. Sri Embar R.Kasturi on "Sadguru Tyagaraja Swami and Creativity". A lot of ragas, many of them major ones like Harikambhoji, Kharaharapriya, Todi, etc. were literally saved for posterity through the wealth of compositions of this great saint. Sri Kasturi will dwell in detail on the musical genius that the Sadguru was. The programme will be held at Raga Sudha Hall, Mylapore on the 28th of August (Saturday), 2010 at 5:30pm. We request your presence at the venue on time.
