VKV,
To have a couple of dates to start with is a good idea, I think. SInce Sumitra too is in this, I would like to know for sure that it isn't a day when she has a concert. To me, after the 15th, any day is fine.

Over the last couple of years, I have grown used to seeing Smt R. Vedavalli sing on, or close to Christmas Day. That's Christmas to me!

VKV sir, the schedule is perfectly fine, though i feel it is packed a bit, understandably due to time constraints. But i think the only issue atleast in my point of view is that it will be great if it is on a sunday morning (like 18th) or on an holiday like xmas..

I would be happy if all the members of the Rasikas including the Administrator, and the three Moderators to be present at the Rasikas meet during the December 2010 hosted by the U/S.

Special invitation is extended to Sri Harimau for this meeting since a large No. of rasikas are eager to meet him including the U/S.

I welcome all the Overseas Rasikas and Rasikas from India in large Nos to attend the meet.

I would like to get advance information from the Rasikas who are sure to attend the meet.

RASIKAS MEET IN CHENNAI DURING DECEMBER 2010.
Considering the suggestions given by many Rasikas, we may decide on the following.

1 The preferred date of our meet may be on 18 th December since many of the Rasikas may prefer to attend the morning concert on 25.12.2010.[ X-MAS FESTIVAL]

1.We can start our programme at 9.30 AM with only the invocation song by S. Srinidhi
and her short concert for 30 minutes say from 10.15 to 10.45. This timing will felicitate more Rasikas to listen to Srinidhiâ€™s singing.

2, 09.40 to 10.00.A.M...INTRO OF THOSE PRESENT BY THEMSELVES.

3. 10: 00 to 10:15.. OVERVIEW & INTRODUCTION OF R.K.Ramasubramanian BY V.K.V. 3. HAS TO END BY 10: 45 SO 2& 3 WILL BE ADJUSTED TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

4. 10:15 to 10.45...Short duration concert by S.Srinidhi.
10.45 to 11.00. Speech by Sri A.M.Sharmaji [If he is attending the meeting] and by others.

5. 11.00 to 11.30....M.K.R'S PRESENTATION.

11.30.to 11.45.....COMMENTS,DISCUSSIONS, QUESTIONS ETC ON 5.

6. 11.45 to 12.15...INTRO OF ARASI & HER PRESENTATION.

7. 12.15 to 12: 30.. COMMENTS, DISCUSSIONS, QUESTIONS ON 6.

8. 12:30 to 01.15..V.K.V. ON MMI, PMI, THEIR 100th Anniversaries including comments, discussions, questions, suggestions etc

9. 01.15 to 02.15 ..LUNCH, SOCIALIZING ETC.

AFTER 2 P.M. RIGHT NOW THINGS ARE OPEN & WE CAN WORK ON THAT DEPENDING ON WHO IS AVAILABLE WILLING TO TALK ETC. I have to talk to T.S. in PERSON IN CHENNAI in November. Thatâ€™s the way I operate.

REST OTHERS CAN FILL ETC including approaching T.S. before that if they wish .......VKV

Sri VKV and all other Rasikas may express their opinions on the date and the schedule.

As such there is a lot to cover in the agenda till 2pm, I suggest we can wind with the lunch and not have post lunch sessions for sure. You can move the intro sessions from 09:40 to 10:00 to say 11:40 to 12 as I am sure many will turn late (not that I want them to...).

VKV sir,
I suggest if it is not a burden that you continue to be MC, as you only have the best sense of timing and can also keep a tab on your ex student MKR too

Nice to know that a meet of this kind is being planned.

It is my desire and if it is acceptable to all and with due respect to time constraints, i can ask my son to give a presentation of how he is trying to bring in the nuances on keyboard. This can be a short duration interactive session viz. people can ask him for specific raga aalapana and if he knows that raga can try to explain how this is being brought out etc.

Irrespective of this being accepted, we all will try to be there.

Whereas our Christmas meet is an opportunity for rasikas from all over to get together, there is no reason it should be the only one, nor will it. There are regular concerts and there have been jam sessions, as well as meets for other purposes and at other times.

The agenda being fixed for this meet does not mean no more opportunities! Those willing and wishing to do can be ready for other occasions, and are even free to initiate those occasions!

To Nageswaran Sir, VKV sir and others, hope am not asking/requesting this in vain. Can't this get together be arranged on a sunday PLEASE ?? I run a great amount of risk in missing this if it is on 18th and hence the request for sunday. Am requesting this as i dont want to miss this, even though it may sound a selfish request.

I had already written to VKV that the 18th, sorry to say, does not suit Sumitra to join me when I speak about my compositions. The 19th? She is singing at the Academy that day and I would like to listen to her too. So, that's out, as well

I do hope there is going to be another session which I can participate in and also meet some of the members in the family of rasikas.

Thanks a lot for the organisers of the Global Meet. i am eagerly waiting for an opportunity to meet our rasikas. Last year I could not make it as the concert of RKSreekantan took the priority. This year I am definitely participating. Along with two friends - one Mr.Sivaramakrishnan a forumite and one more friend will be attending.
