Re: Bharat Sangeet Utsav 2010
Really impressive line-up! I am intrigued by the Saturday program
4.45 pm: Ghazals: Anup Jalota and Party
7.00 pm: Compositional forms in the Carnatic Classical Idiom: T. M. Krishna
I think Anup Jalota might be more appropriate later in the evening.

People (who understand hindi) should try not to miss Sri Jalota's program - he is awesome; his explanations, personal views etc., are almost as wonderful as his music... and his hindi is both high quality and simple at the same time.

I have attended three concerts of Sri Anup Jalota. He keeps the audience spell bound and engaged continuously all through his renditions without break.

Wow! Amazing line up. Keep it up Ram, Shashi and others. Extra credit for programming innovation too! It's a pity I have to miss it all as I will be away from Chennai during those dates
((.
BTW, the "Tri Shakti" program could be renamed "Tri Nitrotoluene" now that it is confirmed that the "explosive" power of Shri Thiruvarur Vaidyanathan has been added to the ensemble ! How I wish again I could be there to witness the excitement !

I am surprised that Maggi Sauce is not one of the sponsors .
For this event , year after year , is one with a difference
Good Luck .I may have to miss the major part of this due to personal commitments..

Re: Bharat Sangeet Utsav 2010
Instead of most lineups being at 3 ,5 and 7pm which means the first two concerts wil wind up in 1 hour and 50 mins will not give that much time for artists .. Instead if the line up is made at 2pm , 4:30 and 7pm it would have been better.Incidentally those who sing in weekends have that kind of favourable slot like sowmya and gv /nisha ,where there is that extra time, but weekday concerts are constrained with time.
Isai nAtakam by SGC and SV Shekhar , is it going to be continuous series of one line of punch dialog and one musical sangathi for 2 hours
. Nevertheless it appears a clever marketing to pull more drama rasikas to music .Good luck , I am travelling out of country for a week during deepAvali .
