I would like to know the background of this tarangam from Sri Krishna Leela Tarangini's point of view.
I heard Smt Salem Gayatri Venkatesan's version of this song in Sangeethapriya and before the song she said briefly that the singer of the song is 'Rukmini' who sings this to an Unchavritti Brahman requesting him to protect her and take her to Dwaraka or something like that as her marriage time to Sisupala is fast approaching and she wants to be with Sri Krishna.

Can anyone please provide more background on this story? Like what happens after this song and why does she address this song to 'Gopala' if she is actually talking to the Unchavritti Brahmin??
I really liked the plot of the story but couldn't get it.

Any one can explain - would be much grateful.

This is a direct prayer of a devotee to Krishna and has no reference to Rukmini kalyana or the circumstances of her proposed forced marriage to Shishupala.
In all probability, the specific context may have been cited in some writing covering the composer's Tarangini work.

There are many references in this song to show Krishna as the redeemer and protector of a devotee. The word Kshemam is defined through a series of positive and negative influences that Krishna can bring to a devotee's life.

Just now the electricity went plunging me into the fan-less sveltering heat of summer. But shortly after, heavy downpour started for my kshema.
(normally the moment it starts raining, the power goes, thanks to poor outdoor supply wiring. This was the other way round today )
