Congrats smt. arasi. Sorry that I could make it little late only and i stayed for the concert. I sincerely enjoyed the lyrics and the lyrical value was enhanced by a good team presentation and the right ambience available at Raga Sudha Hall. Erode dar was as usual at his best and congrats once again and all the very best for our Smt. Arasi's lyrics to become more and more popular!

It was a very nice function followed by an excellent concert.

Arasi is well known for considering the stage a place for music rather than speech, but she is a very good speaker. Any concerns she had that the talking went on too long can be easily dismissed: the concert started exactly on time. There was absolutely no need of chasing anyone off stage with a snake gourd

Highlight of the evening: Arasi was persuaded to sing a few lines herself.

It's well past one. Just switching on the computer after being at the Brahma Gana Sabha event of MS's Seventh Memorial year and Radha's birthday and her being honored. Very moving speeches about MS, Gopalakrishna Bharathi's a gem. I asked Cienu to please post it wholly. Hope he obliges. I stayed for the concert which followed of grandmother Radha and grand daughter Aishwarya. An amazing feat, Radha still with so much stamina, and Aishwarya reaching heights I never imagined she would, this year.
Thank you all for being there--even those who weren't physically present, but were with me.

Will continue when I have the time to write.

This is the third time I'm typing, having lost it all to the internet gobbler (:

Mrs. YGP and Cleveland Sundaram were gracious to me. I find Sudhakar of Swathi Soft Solutions to be a gentleman. Among celebrity forumites were: Chitra vina Ravikiran, dear vidyaarthi NSG, stopping on his way to his own concert

Neela Ramgopal, Vijayalakshmi Subramaniam; not rasika members but family--vidushis Ananthalakshmi Sadagopan and Jayalakshmi Santhanam, and the extended family members some with different musical skills, friends...
Suryaprakash had a concert in Madurai but his father took the trouble to come...

Other performers who were present were T. Rukmini, Guru Radha, Veena Jayalakshmi Shekhar and Alleppy Venkatesan.

Nick, Lakshman, his wife Shantha, Ganeshkanth (meet him for the first time, though I feel like I know him through his poetry and reviews), Sundara rajan (I bet he was jet-lagged, but still came!), Cienu (with umpteen things to take care of--about his mother's award event concert and the concert of Aishwarya in the afternoon), TKB, a tired man after all of Satya's CDs release that he left behind his cell phone at the hall, which a friend found and all's well that ends well

, Pattamma and two music-imbibing children. Were there more?

And on stage, aravarasar Erode Nagaraj, playing exuberantly, but with fine strokes, Ambikaprasad ably playing the violin and Venkata subramanian completing the ensemble...

And Sumitra Nitin gave a super performance...

Nice to know the event went on well with celebrities attending. I am sure this CD is the best of all; but a better is yet to come

Sumitra must have given her best in the company of our Erode.
When is Swati offering the CD for sale? Can't wait till your return home to listen to them!

Arasi - glad it went well. I think it was a stroke ot genius to have your CD release at the beginning of the season - now you can rest, and enjoy the rest of the season! I am hoping Rajesh or Ganesh will post a review of the concert.
