True to the meaning of ‘arAdhanai ‘ OST paid homage to the saint by singing more no.of kritis with a restrained approach to the formal segments like AlApanai and niraval. In the 2 hrs.concert there was only one AlApani of KeeravANi and the rest were all short sketches that lasted for a few second with a couple of phrases that had rich rAga lakshaNam.

He did the usual shruti bhedham and brought out bowLi (?) during his keeravANi exercise. Some knowledgeable member may enlighten about this shrutibhedham..Normally I think if U sing MMG in madhyamashruthi U get ‘Sim.madh.’So can this be done vice versa also.Because normally We hear the same shruti bhedham to bowLi (?) even in ‘sim.madhyamam’.

There were as usual excellent moments in the concert for e.g the sangathis he sang for the pallavi in evrUrA ,the niraval for both the main and paluku paluku…

Mysore SrikAnth was in his elements and played a great innings by showing his competency in replies of all sorts.

KVP & Kartik played understandably and played a v.g.tani.

An impressive song list. If a concert starts with Enduku nirdaya it is a jet take off which we have experienced enough in SSI concert. OST normally packages all his concerts with 90% Thyagaraja Kritis. So in a Thyagaraja uthsavam, it is no wonder he has sung exclusively Thyagaraja Kritis. And normally he chooses to conclude with Nadupai.
