Nice to hear that , few years back Pattabhi Raman Pandit told a lot about Hemmige srivatsan. The TR Subramaniam sabha that you mention is "Music Education Trust"

Thanks for sharing the programme list. He gave a SPELLBINDING concert couple of days back for KVN & Ariyakudi memorial trust i guess... Already one of the most memorable concerts for me this season.

Pity that such a dedicated artiste is not seen much in the CM circuit. He is a good violinist too.

Guess that he is based out of the US and hence his absence in the Chennai circuit. There are quite a few recordings of him playing the Violin, accomanying Shri.KVN. Brilliant ones. I also heard one Hemmige Prashanth sometime back (Dont know if he is related to Srivatsan or a disciple maybe) who is also very good. Solid pATAntharam and classical stuff.

Really it is Chennai's loss to miss out on such chaste music..

A violinist with a very clean and sparse style. His accompaniment to a 1988 KVN concert held in Kuala Lumpur comes to mind immediately for the sheer crispness and sensitivity.

His wife Shubhapriya Srivatsan is also a good musician. She is the daughter of Tiruvaiyaru Shri Krishnan. She has had her training under her father and also Prof. Ramanathan. Their children also sing well.
