Happy New Year - Best Wishes for a Wonderful 2013

It is that time of the year again, and it is time to say thanks for a year gone gone by and wish for a very fulfilling year ahead. So, I thought we could do it musically.
Let me start -
If I had to say thanks for the year gone by, I'd chose this one to say it - especially the caraNa that thanks the dEvi for the countless (saMkhyE illada) pieces of good fortune (bhAgyava) - for, despite the awful times, there were sublime moments as well (many of which were personal) that make this year memorable...

And here is a song that captures my wish for everyone in 2013 and the years to come (I refer to the viruttam sung before the lovely song);

The sixteen blessings or wealths abhirAmi bhaTTar seeks from abhirAmi are:
1. knowledge/learning that is permanent/indestructible (kalaiyAda kalviyum)
2. long life (kuRaiyAda vayadu)
3. guileless friendship (kapaTu varAda naTpum)
4. limitless excellence/greatness (kunRAda vaLamum)
5. eternal youth (kunRAda iLamaiyum)
6. body without sloth (kazhapiNi illAda uDalum)
7. tireless or steadfast mind/heart (SaLiyAda manamum)
8. loving spouse (actually a spouse who doesn't lose their love for you - anbu agalAda manaiviyum/kaNavanum)
9. children that do not stray (tavarAda santAnamum)
10. unaltered fame (tAzhAda kIrtiyum)
11. unchanging speech (tavarAda vArttaiyum) - truthfulness
12. boundless and unhindered charity (taDiagaL illAda koDaiyum)
13. inexhaustible wealth (tolaiyAda nidhiyum)
14. unswerving goals (kONAda kOlum)
15. life without hardships (tunbam illAda vAzhvum)
16. unshakable love for, faith in, and devotion to the pure and holy feet of abhirAmi (tuyya nin pAdattil anbum)
