Very happy to see the songlist. Reminds me of O ranga Sayee by the great MS in Rama Seva Mandali in the 80s.
Please advertise the concerts especially if they are in South Bangalore.

It was a full hall at the Indian Institue of World Culture with a highly knowledgable audience in attendance. I was indeed very touched when a visibly moved Sri Ramabhadra (Grandson of Maasti) told me post concert that his Grandfather was surely hearing this concert somewhere and blessing Aishwarya..

The accompanying artists Vittal Rangan and Akshay Anand were brilliant.

cienu - let us know once the videos are up. Also, any veena concerts scheduled of Aishwarya? Akshay is a disciple of Vid. K.S. Kalidas - a direct disciple of Pazhani. As folks may know, Vid. Kalidas regularly contributes to Sruti magazine spotting young talent.

O rangaSAyi--a tough kruthi to sing, even for seniors, considering all its dimensions. Aishwarya pulled it off well. The kuzhaivu of her great grandmother and the iSaivu of her grandmother were reflected in her singing quite a bit. With every performance, she reminds me that she's not the child anymore, the one I first heard several years ago.

Listening to talented young musicians is always exciting (the future of CM in their hands). More so with Aishwarya and her ilk who bring with them a musical lineage (both a blessing and not so for them, because they have to prove themselves to the audience who know where they comes from). The responsibility of carrying on the glorious past well-suits Aishwarya. She is serious about her art (doubly so, with her vINA playing too), and is so focused. Her earnestness is evident in her concentration and in her effort. Her bhAvaYAmi gOpAlabAlam only reaffirmed all this.

Vittal Rangan and Akshay Anand were examples of anusaraNai.

Way to go, all!

I heard her O rangasAyi,nice performance . Looks like Aishwarya is slowly and definitely maturing as an intense performer. I think her voice is slowly getting more and more bass and the shrill is just slowly melting since I heard last time. Also the viruththam is very emotive .Great team work , I especially like the young akshay, he is just rocking .

Thanks for posting the complete O rangasAyi, Cienu! The neraval was crisp and the tAra stAyi phrases were nice. As pattamaa said, the kala pramanam of the kriti did justice to its grandeur. I'll listen to the other clips shortly.

Bhavayami Gopalabalam - the way she handled the bhriga-sangati at 'chatula natana...' says it all.
Of course the MS stamp on phrases like kutila pada- ghatita .. GHA in ghatia...

What a moving rendering of the viruttam... I remember the video of Sri LGJ with Ustad Amjad Ali Khan wherein both of them have rendered the Hindolam-Maalkauns combo... and the way LGJ plays the Hindola aalapanam ... its so moving....

I would say this is also almost like that... 100% pure ...
