Samudhra magazine had published articles and interview with Shri Chitraveena Narasimhan Sir, with contributions from his disciples and children-Ravi Kiran, Sashi Kiran and Kiranavali which gave a rare insights in to the Maestro and teacher, par excellence. I request Smt. Radha Bhaskar to provide the links to enable all those who are attending and did not read these articles of merit.

VGP layout, Palavakkam, Chennai- 600 041.

Directions:

From Tiruvanmiyur, take ECR (Left turn at Thiruvanmiyur Junction),

After passing two petrol bunks on left, go straight at (Palavakkam Arch on left) signal.

After passing Church of Southern India on left, go straight at (Periyar Salai on right) signal.

At next signal (just before Singapore Shoppe) turn left onto Palavakkam Anna Salai

then first left....first Right....again First left.

The total distance from Thirvanmiyur is around 4km. The landmarks I have mentioned are all at the last part of the journey. First, cross RTO, Spencers, Bata, Reliance shoes/Digital.

If anyone finds themselves at the St Anthony Church junction, turn back! you have gone too far!

On the other hand, if coming from the South (in which case they will probably know ECR better than I do) then, after St. A, keep a lookout for Singapore Shoppe and take that right turn into Anna Salai.

I have updated the title of the thread with the date and time of the meet and put a link in the first post to Nick's post above with the address and directions. Good work Nick, the directions are quite clear, one does not even need to look at the map. I do not not know too much about palavakkam ( except for the famous drama with that name in the title when I was young ) but I have personal reasons to get familiar with Uthandi which is further south and so looking at the map had other benefits for me.

it is good to see the excitement building up for the event. I did have a plan to visit chennai at one time but I had to postpone it by a few months. So I will be missing you all. Have a great time. All the best.

Mr.Nageswaran: There is 50% chance of my attending the meet. I arrive in Chennai(an unscheduled visit for my mother who just underwent surgery today which was -- thank God - successful--she is 95 years old!!) ) on Saturday morning. I will make every effort to attend the meet unless there is some complication--I will let you know after I arrive on Saturday.

Please thank Sri.Ravi Kiran on my behalf for his generous gesture to host in the midst of what would be the most busiest period for him.

If to see her brings you to Chennai, and may even bring you to the Rasikas.org gathering, "iraTTai nAyanamE'--I mean, iraTTai Ramesh (Mahavishnu)!

VKV will be missed of course, many others from abroad. VK couldn't make it. Pasupathy and Ravi were here only recently, Lakshman and CML, VKRaman et al. Wonder if Kedharam, Jayaram from the UK, Mohan from Australia are coming...

Our host, Sri Ravikiran was gracious enough to arrange for the tea and lunch for all the members attending the meet.

I am sincerely trying to come , still cannot confirm as I have a very tiny tot in my home. It roughly takes 3 hours to make a to and fro journey and also 3 hours to be participating in the event.

It should take no more than 45 mins, so if you walk out of the house by 12.30 you will be on the safe side.

Palavakkam is not really that far away! EG, clear-road driving time to MA is 30 minutes, 15-30 is added by traffic, but Sunday midday will not be too bad.

For those who are here, but have lunchtime or early afternoon engagements, let me repeat: Palavakkam is not that far away!

You do not have to stay until 1.pm, nobody will be on guard at the door, and if you are taking cab or auto, those drivers will shave a good amount off the driving times I gave already!

What's more, nobody is going to object to those coming as a last minute decision/opportunity. If anyone feels bad about doing this, well, don't eat the food

Folks:
By God's grace,my mother is recovering from surgery and has OKAYED my plans to attend the meet.Had she been welll enough I would have brought her along and you could have been treated to an impromptu demo of all the 32 Thodi krithis of Saint Thyagaraja!!

Given Nick's excellent direction,I hope I can find the place on time.trying to see if I can hitch aride with our rasikas friends who may be in the viicinity(R.A.Puram).
