So nice! The Aljazeera lady anoints TMK as the sex-appeal Carnatic musicologist dude!

Couple of questions:
1) given the average age of the CM audience (somehow, I can't forget Ramesh mama's/MKR's statement that he brought the average age down when he joined an audience!) - what on earth does being considered a s@x-symbol even mean?
2) OK - what's the big deal about school pick-ups? I will have to channel Shania Twain and croon, 'that don't impress me much'!

Sexy is as sexy does.
Sexy, as in not stuck in a groove, musical or otherwise...uninhibited to go mountain-climbing, sing to the clouds at Everest base camp, coming down to earth and doing chores, write a book... shaking a leg with artsy types over a glass of wine, camaraderie, sharing and relating to folks aged one to ninety ...intense, yet varied, focused yet lively...all this a little exaggerated maybe, you get the picture.

It is not age, but action counts!
TMK does it!
TMK does it!

Oh, my question is not what constitutes a sex symbol (and thankfully, it's different strokes for different people) - my question was, by whom? The really old who seem to make up the CM audiences?

It is the youngsters who feel a connection with him on and off the stage. We can't expect our presently attending audiences to give any ratings on sex appeal or sex-symbol statuses.
Although one can live, love and love anew many times over at any age, the mind never quite relinquishes its youth. Some, even in that audience may secretly revel, if you think outside the box. :p
A purist, a perfectionist, a modernist, a bar-raiser, a lateral thinker, a fun-lover, an adventure seeker, a dedicated passionate guy - most young things would flip over, women I mean.
