Re: Concert by Shri Rama Varma on Maharaja Swati Tirunal Kri
Thanks to all the streaming, this morning from Neela Ramgopal's kunthalavarALi in another thread, I arrived at Rama Varma's bhOgIndra Sayinam--after hearing a bit of his vakuLAbharaNam (sAdhu tadA). Then a detailed hamIr kalyANi, the kruti being gAngEya vasanadharA.
Sri padmanAbha dAsA (ST) was presented to the Delhi audience with fervor and love. As I went about my morning activities, I also happened to hear japathi japathi (was it in pahADi?), and the concluding rAgamAlikA.
It was a very pleasing presentation, all of RV's love for his music and ancestor going into it. Rama Varma speaks of his admiration for his accompanists in his concerts. Varadu was an asset as ever, Ravikumar and Karthick an excellent layA duo for support as they were with Payyanur in Bengaluru.
Loved that vINA concert there two weeks ago. This one was a welcome follower, and with Varadu in addition...
With appreciation for all the folks who make this instant access to music possible by caring to stream the programs and informing us of them at Rasikas.org
