நீங்கள் நமது மியூசிக் காலேஜுக்குப் போயிருக்கிறீர்களா? அங்கே மட்டுமல்ல, சங்கீதம் கற்றுக்கொடுக்கும் வேறு எந்த நிறுவனத்துக்குப் போனாலும் பார்க்கலாம். சரளி வரிசைகள், ஜண்டை வரிசைகள். பாடத்திட்டத்தில் இவைதாம் அடிப்படைப் பயிற்சிகளாகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும். ஃப்ளூட் வாசிப்பவனும் இந்த வரிசையைத் தான் கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். வயலின் வாசிப்பவனும் இந்த வரிசையைத்தான் கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். வீணை வாசிப்பவனும் இந்த வரிசையைத்தான் கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். வாய்ப்பாட்டு கற்பவனும் இந்த வரிசையைத்தான் கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். வீணை மீட்டி வாசிக்கப்படுவது. புல்லாங் குழல் காற்றுக் கருவி. காற்றைக் கொடுத்து வாசிப்பது. வயலின் வில்லால் (bow) மீட்டி வாசிக்கப்படுவது. இந்தக் கருவிகளுக்கெல்லாம் அவற்றுக்கே உரிய தனித் தன்மைகள் இல்லையா? ஒரே அரிச்சுவடி மூலம் நம்மால் நான்கு மொழிகளைக் கற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியுமா? எத்தனை முட்டாள்தனமான கருத்து இது. வயலினில் நான்கு தந்திகள். வீணையில் ஏராளமான மட்டுகள். நாலு தந்திகளையும் இத்தனை ஸ்தாயிகளையும் வாசிக்கத் தோதான ஃபார்முலாவை உபயோகப்படுத்தாமல், இவர்களுக்குத் தெரிந்த வழிமுறை கீர்த்தனம் என்பதால் ‘அதையே வீணையில் வாசித்துக் கற்றுக்கொள், இதுதான் சங்கீதம்’ என்று கற்பிக்கிறார்கள். இதுதான் இங்கே இருக்கும் நிலைமை. நம்மைப் பேச அனுமதிக்காத பாஷையால் என்ன பிரயோஜனம்? வாத்தியத்துக்கு அதன் சாத்தியங்களை வெளிப்படுத்தக்கூடிய பயிற்சி முறை (சிட்சை) இருக்க வேண்டும்.
