More information on Swarabhushani pl. It is very close to devamanohari. I have heard this kriti only in the movie 'Tygaiah' of Nagiah (1946) in youtube . I have not listened in any concerts so far!

I missed the first half hour of this wonderful concert. Amrutha... Oh, wait. I just checked the Naada Inbam program, and her chosen spelling of this name is apparently Amritha. Never mind the spelling, back to the music...
Amritha kept me spellbound from my arrival to the 9pm finish. It was one of those concerts where one even wants to hear Mangalam through to the close. Her voice is beautiful, her quality of delivery is superb and consistent from beginning to end. I can't comment on any more technical details, but I don't think anyone had any complaints!
Even in my ignorance of the content, the songs seemed mostly unfamiliar to me. I confirmed this, talking with Bharathi Ramasubban, after the concert, who said that yes, there was much rarely heard material. Even the ragas (again, I cannot tell) of two or three songs seemed quit unusual.
In two days, with RKSK and Amritha, we have had two wonderful concerts presented by Smrti at Ragasudha Hall. After a not-so-good experience a week or two ago (let it be nameless) I had not gone out. I now feel refreshed, re-enthused and rejuvenated.

Nick, your review is as aesthetic as Padma Subrahmanyan showing viswa rupa in her Gita dance. I wondered why she took up that episode which I thought was difficult to choreograph, as how can one show viswarupa (universal form)? But, the abhinaya she showed put to rest any doubt. I listened on the web to the concerts and your reaction sums up one's listening experience.

Swarabhushani, or even Bindumalini, Manohari etc are scales for which one cannot render aalaapana without fully depending on the kriti!

A track of SRajam teaching the song exists too.
