Does Electronic Equipment Have Better Sensibilities than Humans?

Post by harimau »

This is an important point that needs to be considered carefully.

Comparisons between instruments which are not subjective and humans who bring their own biases into their observations have probably been documented in scientific literature.

Psychologists talk about 'phenomenology' where results are skewed due to preconceived notions on the part of participants in experiments.

Now comes the operative part: Two of the three members of Team Harimau have reported that their recording devices have failed to record concerts of Sanjay Subramaniam and TMK. The batteries were fully charged and the recording light stayed on during the concert.

Does this mean that an inanimate device is a fairer judge than humans when it comes to artistic sensibilities?

Will this be considered by various sabhas in handing out awards at least from next year?

If that happens, is TMK not fated to get the Sangeetha Kalanidhi ever?

The mind boggles!

What you have written can be understood only by instruments.

Harimau,
you have established a HUGELY important phenomenon. It had often beeen said that spouses and pets and draught animals imbibe the attitudes and expressions of their master over time. For the first time, there is empirical evidence that your electronic devices have been Harimau-ed. Imagine if this happens to also your mobile phone, car and door bell :D

Comparisons between instruments which are not subjective and humans who bring their own biases into their observations have probably been documented in scientific literature.........TRUE. I FEEL THIS IS WHY CARNATIC MUSICIANS OF TODAY SURVIVE, GAIN NAME& FAME BY THEIR P.R. TECHNIQUES MOSTLY & JUSTIFIABLY HAVE EARNED THE CONTEMPT OF HINDHUSTANI CLASSICAL MUSICANS....
Now comes the operative part: Two of the three members of Team Harimau have reported that their recording devices have failed to record concerts of Sanjay Subramaniam and TMK. The batteries were fully charged and the recording light stayed on during the concert.....HARIMAU& HIS TEAM being very savvy I SUSPECT they might have used Aritificial Intelligence & Neural Network Techinques to TEACH the recording devices WHAT GOOD & TECHNICALLY CORRECT CARNATIC MUSIC IS as well as WHAT THE COMPOSITIONS OF THE GREAT COMPOSERS ACTUALLY MEAN ETC. &taught them to reject WHITE NOISE as well as use S/N CRITERIA. No wonder they rejected the stuff they heard....PLEASE TREAT THIS AS A JOKE THOUGH I AM WILLING TO TECHNICALLY DEFEND WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN HERE... :!:
Does this mean that an inanimate device is a fairer judge than humans when it comes to artistic sensibilities?...
YES unless they are as good as the VACUM TUBE VERSION (NOT TRANSISTOR) of Macintosh Amplifier , NIMBUS MICS & ALTEC LANSING "VOICE OF THE THEATER" SPEAKERS....VKV :!: ;) :) :?:
I MUST HOWEVER ADD THAT THE INSTRUMENTAL MUSICIANS IN CARNATIC MUSIC TODAY ARE TECHNICALLY GREAT & MY OBSERVATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO THEM. I am referring only to the VOCALISTS.....VKV

I think it is time to replace Team Harimau's recording device.

The recording devices -- different makes and models -- recorded other concerts with no problem whatsoever.

They hiccup only when they hear TMK or Sanjay!

Harimau,
just for a moment-not any longer - consider the possibility that the two great musicians on whom many heap praise (and your tribe, contempt) may be endowed with spiritual powers to prevent undesirable elements make bootleg recordings. Such instances have beem recorded before by Swami Rama, Paramahamsa Yogananda and so on.

Maybe you will have to show contrition and regret for your devices to operate in such presence.

Methinks that the vyagra-kuThumbam's brains subconsciously guided their thumbs to turning the recording button off before putting device in pocket. It's a conspiracy.

The tigers however seem to be in need of dentures of late.
