'engum niraindhirukkum' looked kurinji to me. Need to validate

One more suggestion. Senjurutti?
There is one song Brindavanam idhuvo listed as suddha dhanyasi by Suddhananda Bharathi.
It was an enjoyable concert with a very pleasant mridangam accompaniment and thani by Venkatesh.
At some places the noise level was high. The entire tatavameruga was sung in a carnival spirit. Though loud, it was fun. The swaras mimicked English notes.
He did some interesting swara prasthara for bhairavi playing on ma paa da.
A fellow rasika mentioned that melody takes a back seat when he is focused on laya.

Sanjay himself has uploaded the track in 2013. It is Shuddha Dhanyasi, composed by Suddhananda Bharati, Aditala.

What a concert song list! This artiste Sanjay Subrahmanyan deserves every honour and adoration of the rasikas, for his mastery. The song list shows how much he connects with the occasion, the audience, the bhava of the songs he presents. The concert seems to be a wonderfully strung garland for the vanamali RadhAramaNa!
Can't wait to read the review.

It was mentioned that he is singing for 14 years in the temple, not a single song was repeated.
It was being recorded by his wife. Hope it is being made available in gumrock.
As usual Amrutha Venkatesh was there. I did not see Neela mami.

nija dAsa- I don't think it is ashtabadhi. Correct me, if Iam wrong.

Nice review, as usual.

It is song 24 of Gita govinda. It begins as kuru yadunandana. Last line is nijagaada saa yadunandane. BMK has also sung this.

Arvenky is right. The artist confirms that it (item 12) is Kurinji.

Thanks Badari for the review and others for adding the details. It was a "power packed" performance as usual and the level of energy which he brings on to the state is wonderful. The swara play during both Tatavameruga and Balagopala was interesting.

Badari, though I am not good at identifying ragas, even I felt a feel of "Abhogi" sometimes in the SriRanjani kriti! So, you are not alone :-)

All of Karnataka was pumped up? :)
Even I felt a feel of "Abhogi" sometimes in the SriRanjani kriti!
Certain pairs of ragas seem to trip up certain artistes regularly in that they don't fully pass the disambiguation test.

Simhendramadhyamam / Keeravani, Arabhi / Devagandhari are also stumbling blocks for others.

Even the major league artistes seem susceptible to these.

I do not think Badari meant that Sanjay tripped on the raga. His words: "Making way for a shudda- madhayama krithi, the ini oru kaNNam krithi in shrIranjani kept me in tangential thinking mode as I was prActicing AbhOgi earlier during the day."
There may be difference between what a rasika perceives and what the artist delivers.

I was very clear in what I stated.

I was practicing Abhogi, Sanjay clearly presented Sriranjani - not an aorta of doubt in the notes / sangatis. I was running on the Abhogi track and he was running on the Sriranjani Track. Nowhere we met !!

The pallavi for song # 10 is posted as brindavanam iduvO uyar. It is now identified as Shuddhananda Bharatiyar's composition. But his composition is as follows (as found in printed books).

Sorry, I misunderstood, my mistake!

It is my problem only, not the artiste's :-)

KVCji & Lakshmanji- Thanks for correcting me. First I thought, there was no first line in ashtabadhi starting with Nija dAsa. Secondily, there is one song, nijadAsa varadA...,heard this sung by Maharajapuram santhanam. Both got mixed up.

Lakshmanji. You put song # 11, but is 24th Ashtabhadhi, normally sung in Surutti rAGam in rAdha kalyAnam !!

Song # 11 refers to the song list that Badari posted. Mangalakaishiki is the rAgA given in the book that I used to copy the lyrics from.

Sastrigal - a small correction, if I may - the compositions of Sri Jayadeva are referred to as ashTapadi - अष्टपदि in sanskRt

I have a book 'Gita Govinda Kavya' published by V.Ramaswamy Sastrulu & Sons (1956) in which in Samskritham, it is अष्टपदी १ etc. and in English it is SONG 1 etc. There is no exact equivalent in English for ashtapadee.

If the publishers of songs in Tamil script adopt the subscripts for the different characters these errors won't happen (not just for samskrt but for all Indian languages).

What is the difference between 'aSTapadi' (अष्टपदि) and aSTapadI' (अष्टपदी) ?

There is also one 'rAmASTapadI' रामाष्टपदी !

Hope someone will clarify.

Perhaps it is only अष्टपदी.
Googling, I find:
Definition of अष्टपदी
स्त्री० [सं० अष्टपद+ङीष्] १. आठ छंदों या पदों का समूह। २. एक प्रकार का गीत जिसमें आठ पद होते हैं। ३. एक प्रकार की चमेली।
