Brilliant lalitha alapana. Subtle & subdued. Was like a demo of threading 2 needles simultaneously one with each hand.

Mysore Srikant who exhibited a flash of brilliance earlier during the Nattai swaras in tisra nadai was found a bit wanting during the start & end of the lalitha alapana. Could have been smoother & steadier.

Applause from audience as song finishes. Neraval at ninuvina naakevaru unnaru gathi janani continues. Elaborate 1st speed neraval with ninuvina.

Srikant hitting high notes sweetly without a hint of screech in the neraval. Just a hint of 2nd speed to segue into swaras.

Brilliant mayamma for main. What a privilege to be able to listen to this quality of music live sitting less than 40 feet from the stage. What a gift from SVK and what a gift to him on his rememberance day!

The mangalam was in Ata talam with a short and exquisite kalyani alapana preceding it!

Cute moment of the concert: She started sri kamalambike in Sri ragam, caught herself and restarted karuna juda.

Wish she had taken 1time for an elaborate Anandabhairavi Alapanai and follow with SS's varNam and given it a chowka treatment. Somewhere in between nAttaikurinji & kalyANi

And I also wished violin played tAnam for nAttaikurinji to give a ragam + tAnam + kriti. Is this a done thing or something that purists will frown upon as here-cometh-the-end-of-the-world?
