Very Interesting Lecdem though i followed very little of Laya explanations. One could sense the team work and appreciative of each other's knowledge.
As KVC put it Music of TMK/RKSK is indeed a treat.

I liked the lec-dem. Sri Arun Prakash has his own way to make his points.

I believe the best mridangam vidwans truly excel in accompanying niraval singing. I had observed this while listening to Sri Palghat Mani Iyer, Sri Palghat Raghu and Sri Umayalpuram Sivaraman.
Also Sri Karaikudi Mani.

https://www.amazon.com/Gamanashrama-Man ... B0000E2G32

Mrudangam Vellore G Ramabhadran
Violin Delhi P Sunderrajan
Ghatam E M Subramaniam

That recording which we all bought and heard , had a pallavi to boot where Vellore plays that sarvalaghu through out and Srinvas goes about his pallavi unfazed!

For some of us , who has some openness to hearing melodies like this - there is a Dr BMK one too that used to listen for many nights - the gamanASrama was out of the world.

As regards pallavi, as one review in there rightly captured it in Amazon:
The two percussionists (ghatam and mridangam) also display a flat audio signature (no comparable space and depth as around the other instruments). When put altogether, its a bit like an assembled collage with the different components staged at different distances from the listener that in the end does not sound natural, certainly not as live Carnatic music is capable in its sublime promise.
உங்களால பாட முடியலொயோ ??? எங்களால அதை கேட்கவும் முடியல !! ஒரு எத்தகார பல்லவிதான்! நாதஸ்வரத்திலே வாசிப்பாங்களாமே அது மாதிரி !
