This wonderful padyam has been specially composed by Vinay Varanasi, spanning across the five colours. This padyam showcases the connection that all the colours selected for tinge share in connection to Vishnu/Sri Krishna. There is a binding element between the five verses of the padyam that will be revealed after the 5th verse.

The first part of the padyam showcases the colour blue.
Nila Megha varnuda,
Nilakanta sakhuda,
Ni charitamu paripurnamu galadira

In this, Sri Krishna is described as the blue coloured friend of the blue throated Shiva and as the one whose acts are complete(paripurna) is all aspects.

The ragam chosen for this is Sama/Shyama, which is a shade suggesting a blueish tinge.

Good news. Many of you have been asking for the MadRasana Virtual Concerts. Some of you also asked us if we have a subscription model. We thought about it a lot and decided instead of doing it ourselves, it maybe better to partner with others who do a better job at this so you can get much more than just our content.

Madrasana is pleased to announce the partnership with Shaale. Madrasana virtual concerts of 2020 and 2021 are in their platform. You can subscribe to their channel and in addition to all our concerts you can also enjoy 1,000+ hours of curated in-depth courses, workshops, and on-the-go content from other curated productions.

We feel Shaale is doing tremendous service to classical artform and we want to be part of their journey. I'm sure you will be part of it too.

Since you have been supporting MadRasana, we are giving a special discount till end of March.

We are so excited to come to Bangalore. This will be our first live show in Bangalore and we are thrilled to try out a new format.

Welcome to MadRasana's Yātra in association with Bangalore International Centre

The power of seers and saints lies in their teachings, as well as their life journeys. Every seer/saint has so much that they have experienced, internalized and channeled in order to connect with the divine. Sant Nāmdev (1270-1350AD) was one such soul, whose journey is unmatched. His experiences, his connections with Panduranga Vittala have given us so much to hold on to. His abhangs are filled with extraordinary wisdom, and serve as a way to understand his life story.

With this background in mind, Madrasana presents Yātra, a musical-narrative journey, by Sivasri Skandaprasad and Vinay Varanasi.
This yātra will explore Sant Nāmdev's unique life experiences, and their reflections in his musical compositions - abhangs. This exploration aims to go beyond a linear retelling of his story - it focuses on a celebration of Nāmdev's life and teachings, and the music and narrative have been designed to come together seamlessly for that.

This experience will be happening at BIC, on 22nd july at 6:30pm.

To give a glimpse into the journey of Nāmdev, and to celebrate the joy of Nāmasankeerthana, Sivasri and Vinay will be conducting a Wari (a musical walk) in Malleswaram on 10th July. This walk will take people through the temples of Malleshwaram, all the while singing and sharing some stories as a prelude to Yātra on 22nd July. Anyone can join the walk starting at 8 AM from Dakshina mukha nandishwara temple in malleswaram and finishing at Venugopalaswamy temple. Feel free to bring anyone for this walk and if you are a musician, come along and sing together.

Both the events are free for all. Just to make sure you dont miss out on the details of the program, you can choose to join our whatsapp group where we will post the details for both these programs. This will be an admin oly group and so you will get messages only from the organizers.

Click here from your mobile, to join the whatsapp group. https://smarturl.it/madrasana-yatra?IQid=whatsapp

Please forward this message to anyone in Bangalore who maybe interested.

A request from Madrasana

Dear followers of MadRasana

Thank you for all your support all these years. I'm reaching out to you with a special request. We are fortunate to have a lot of you sending us messages, thanking us for the content we create and some even extending support in any form. We are so grateful for that thought. Shows that we are in the right direction.

We thought about it quite a bit and we want to organize ourselves better to make sure what we do is scalable and also transparent.

In this regard we are happy to announce we have formed an NGO - "MadRasana Trust" and we want to make sure any money that goes into this Trust be used ONLY for the welfare of the musicians and it's ecosystem. For all other operating expense we have the current MadRasana ( different from the Trust ).
We are also happy to say we have got the 80G for the Trust so anyone in India who contributes get tax benefit as well.

We also want to raise just about enough funds every year that we can spend meaningfully and not go overboard.

In this regard we are happy to open up the Trust for contributions. We are also planning to limit the intake for the first year. In return as a Thank You gesture, we will be giving you the season pass for 2 in the best seats possible in the auditorium. The funds will be used ONLY for artists and musicians welfare and not for any operational costs. Anyone in India who contributes will get tax benefit as well. Since this is an Indian NGO, we can accept money only from Indian citizen and Indian Bank.

If this is something you can be part of, we will be very thankful and will send you more details on how to execute it. All you need to do is send a private message to this WhatsApp number or send a mail to [email protected] and i will personally reach out to you.

Thanking you once again for your support. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Mahesh Venkateswaran
Founder MadRasana
